Welcome to the Norfolk Zine Fest website.

With our first zine fest we hope to support and further cultivate the local, independent, and personal expression of experience and ideas in the printed form. Our goal is to provide a place for people from all areas but especially Tidewater a place to share. We want you to participate! If you have one issue or 10 copies, we have a space for you. We have included some information about our ideas of what makes a zine (below)

There is no charge to be a part of Norfolk Zine Fest. To insure that we allocate enough space for you please email us to register ( or AboveWe will be providing more information about guidelines and format of the fest to you via email. We are accepting participants until August 1st, 2017. The location is To Be Announced and the date is September 9th from 1-6pm. Please share this event with others. This event is specifically for zines.

What makes a zine?

zine is something that an individual or a group of people can make on their own and disseminate to spread ideas in a way that does not require much capital or technical skills. Histories, plans, words, art, feelings, photos, and/or information that is not often represented in the book store or in the newspapers can be shared through zines. A copy machine/printer, a fold, and two staples is all you really need to get started. Whether your catalogue is established or this is your first publication, we welcome you with open shelves.

For anyone who wishes to participate but has questions about printing and assembling their zine please email us. We will do our best to help.
